Luc’s funeral was held yesterday, and from all accounts it was extremely sad but beautiful. Here’s an article about the day from Jason Botchford at the National Post. I was watching the news, and they happened to show some footage from the funeral. It was gutwretching watching Luc’s girlfriend, Charlene Ward, read a poem he wrote her, and then listening to Luc singing a love song he wrote about her. It was so sweet and so incredibly sad.
I thought it was a very touching to have the pallbearers wear four different jerseys from teams Luc played on. Major props should be given to the fan that won Luc’s Canucks jersey at Jersey off your back night, and gave it back to the Canucks so it could be handed to Luc’s family. I hope his family and friends were comforted by all the beautiful things that were said about Luc.
